Section 1: Common Problems
Since the DOCAM Alliance began its work, a number of media artworks have been the subject of case studies. The works were selected by the committee because they reflect the difficulties often encountered by media art curators or conservators. [1] Vastly different from one to the next, these works are representative of the wide diversity of problems faced by museum professionals. Most of the works retained present preservation problems associated with the use of specific technologies (film-related, videographic, purely digital, etc.).
